About the weather

About the weather

I don't like rain and snow,
Because I am natural permanent,
Besides I am depressed and blue.
I like snow, but snow is very cold.
My hands become red like maple.
But I like snow to see.

Wow, I don't remember writing that, but reading it did make me remember that Lacy and I had a "speed" poetry club of sorts in 3rd or 4th grade. We would go to her house after school and see how many poems we could write in a given time period, and the more ridiculous they were, the better.
That's when I penned the classic, "Horses".

Horses, horse, running wild,
I'll have some Pace Picante sauce that's mild.

Unfortunately that's the only part I can remember, but it is a gem.

Oh, and then there's the poem about the frog, but I forgot the title:

There once was a frog,
Who sat on a log,
The log had a bump,
Which made the frog jump.
He made a mistake,
And jumped in the lake,
And an aligator ate him up.

Yes, already at age 8 I had a firm grasp of black humor.
Thanks momma.
